FAMily Advancement Ministries

Our Mission

Family Advancement Ministries (FAM) Is a Catholic, diocesan, social service organization that, in partnership with the community at-large, nurtures a reverence for life by responding to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of families with the goal of moving families toward independence and self-sufficiency.

Our Vision

Believing in the compassion of God, we affirm the sacredness of human life by guiding families in need to be hope-filled, empowered and self-sufficient.

Education

Our Education Program is designed to help further the knowledge and skills of our students which will help them reach their goals and maintain self-sufficiency.

Our Parenting Education Program is free of charge to anyone with children under 12. Classes are offered every month, each class length is approximately two hours and schedules vary per month. See Parenting tab to learn more about individual courses offered.  Classes are small in size which enables individualized attention when needed.

Our Personal Finance Classes are free of charge to anyone who is interested. The focus is financial basics, goal setting, lowering utility bills and understanding credit.    This helps our students understand their finances better, how to use what they have to their advantage and to avoid “money traps”. See Personal Finance tab to learn more about individual courses.  After completion of the course students may sign up for individual counseling to help them stay on track.

Class choices, availability and times are listed in detail on a monthly basis. Flexible schedules are provided to help our students complete the classes in each area. A Certificate of Completion is awarded at the end of each class or workshop.

Please note: All participants must register before attending classes by calling 478-746-9803.
