FAMily Advancement Ministries

Our Mission

Family Advancement Ministries (FAM) Is a Catholic, diocesan, social service organization that, in partnership with the community at-large, nurtures a reverence for life by responding to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of families with the goal of moving families toward independence and self-sufficiency.

Our Vision

Believing in the compassion of God, we affirm the sacredness of human life by guiding families in need to be hope-filled, empowered and self-sufficient.

Child Safety

Safety classes advance the well-being of families by helping parents become familiar with common hazards and learning to avoid potential accidents. Topics covered in classes include crib and car seat safety, SIDS awareness, safety in the home and playground safety.

  • Safe Home / Save Energy -  discusses how you can keep your child safe from falls, drowning, burns and poisons.  Home safety is linked to energy usage often - class also focuses on maintaining a safe home while lowering energy costs.
  • Infant / Child First Aid and CPR Demonstration - certified Red Cross instructor teaches what to do when your children are having a medical emergency.  Mannequins are used to provide hands on experience with CPR.

  • Interested in registering? Please check our class schedule for upcoming class offerings and call 478-746-9803 to register. Please note that all participants must register before attending classes.
